Kingdom Hearts is getting a big current-generation refresh this week.
Kingdom Hearts Collection I–III launches on 8 October 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. For families who have heard children talking about Sora, Donald, Goofy and the Disney worlds, this bundle is designed as a way into most of the long-running story.
What is actually included?
The collection combines Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind. That means it spans the early adventures through to the most recent numbered game and its extra chapter.
What is the age rating?
Nintendo UK lists the Switch 2 collection as PEGI 12. Parents should remember that Disney characters do not automatically make every Disney-linked game suitable for very young children. Kingdom Hearts includes fantasy combat, darker story moments and a complicated plot.
What is different on Switch 2?
The new versions are native releases rather than relying on the old cloud-streaming approach. Nintendo also says owners of eligible cloud versions can receive a discount on corresponding digital versions, while save-transfer options are available for some versions.
Is it a good starting point?
It is certainly a large bundle, but the story is famously complicated. Younger players may simply enjoy visiting Disney and Pixar worlds, while older players may want to follow the full order. Parents should check the individual content and the PEGI guidance before buying.
