The Blue Pool is a natural phenomenon hidden within the Furzebrook Estate in Wareham. At over 400 years old, they opened to the public nearly 100 years ago with a beautiful Tearooms and began to share not only buildings filled with art deco and art nouveau style and décor but also the magical body of blue water known as the Blue Pool.

Scientifically, the phenomenon of the unique colour of its waters is caused by light diffracting from tiny particles of clay suspended in its still depths, but over the decades there have been many stories and magical theories that have come to life while people wandered around the edges of the pool and the stunning nature reserve that surrounds it. It was something we at Kidspeak had heard about for years and just had to send over some young reviewers!
It is more than worth the journey and the minimal entrance fee to experience the peace that exists in this idyllic place. And for the younger or more magic believing members of the family, there is a fairy trail to follow, an adventure playground to go wild in and a climbing wall to challenge themselves on. The Blue Pool Nature Reserve is a place to go and get lost in for a whole day.
If you want to add a little extra magic to your experience, visit at night or as the sun is setting for stunning views, followed by some additional colour magic that you and your family will never forget.
