The Weirdest Things Rockstar Has Put Into GTA 6 So Far

GTA has always loved strange people and stranger details. GTA 6 already has conspiracy theories, alligators, flamingos, a fictional TV gator and enough odd corners of Leonida to fill a family-sized bingo card.

Leonida may be Rockstar's strangest world yet

The weirdness is not just random internet speculation. Rockstar’s own character pages, artwork and trailers are already full of deliberately bizarre details.

A man who thinks the internet might all be true

Cal Hampton is Jason’s friend. Rockstar describes him as happiest at home snooping on Coast Guard communications and worrying about suspicious birds.

His official character material includes conspiracy-minded comments about birds flying in formation. Leonida clearly has its own corner of the internet-brain universe.

A fictional television alligator

Rockstar’s latest merchandise even references Macca the Gator, a fictional hit TV show inside Leonida.

When the developer is creating merchandise around a television alligator that exists inside a fictional version of Florida, the world-building has gone fairly deep.

Wildlife everywhere

Flamingos feature prominently in official artwork. Alligators appear throughout the Leonida imagery. Wetlands, waterways and tropical wildlife help make the setting instantly recognisable.

Expect players to spend a completely unreasonable amount of time following animals instead of completing missions.

The places sound like postcards from an alternate Florida

Grassrivers, the Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park all have their own visual identity.

Rockstar has even released official postcard artwork for these areas.

Normal life beside total absurdity

One moment GTA 6 shows basketball or kayaking. The next, somebody is involved in a bank robbery or a bizarre social-media clip.

That collision between ordinary life and ridiculous behaviour appears to be a major part of Leonida’s personality.
