Wuhu Island is coming back.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on 22 October 2026, with 12 sports built around Joy-Con 2 motion controls.
Which sports are included?
Nintendo lists Boxing, Table Tennis, Archery, Tennis, Volleyball, Bowling, Basketball, Golf and Thumb Wrestling. There are also three leisure sports: Skateboarding, Power Cruising and Prop Plane.
Is it a family game?
The UK listing gives it a PEGI 7 rating. Several modes are built for social play, although Nintendo notes that multiplayer can require additional compatible controllers. Online modes also need the appropriate Nintendo Switch Online membership.
What is different about the leisure sports?
They are less focused on winning a traditional match. Nintendo describes them as ways to explore Wuhu Island, find photo spots and move around the resort.
What should parents check?
First, remember that this is a Switch 2 game. Then check how many controllers your household will need for the sports you want to play. Motion games also need sensible space around players, especially when several people are swinging Joy-Con controllers at once.
