Adventure park and zoo
6 min read
Hobbledown Epsom packs a lot into one family attraction. Children can climb through outdoor play villages, explore tunnels, meet animals and head inside when the weather turns.
The park covers around 50 acres. Its animal areas include farm and zoo species, while the play side ranges from jumping pillows and towers to the indoor Great Barn and the sensory-focused Imaginarium.
The strongest part is the mix. Families do not have to choose between a zoo and an adventure playground. Hobbledown combines both.
That works particularly well for mixed-age families. One child can be excited by meerkats or birds of prey, while another wants to spend most of the day climbing.
Hobbledown is running its Colour Carnival on 26 and 27 September. It includes bubbles, music, dancing and a colour-throwing countdown. The activities come with normal entry.
Meanwhile, a new pumpkin event starts on 26 September and runs into November. That gives families another seasonal reason to visit as autumn begins.
This is one of Hobbledown’s advantages. The Great Barn gives children indoor play, while the Imaginarium combines water play, insects, reptiles and interactive activities.
However, much of the park is outdoors. Bring clothes that can handle mud, water and changing weather.
Yes. The range of play and animal areas makes Hobbledown better suited to a full day than a quick stop. The park also says families get at least a 45-minute session in the indoor play barn during a visit.
Overall, Hobbledown works best for active children who like to move between different types of play rather than follow a fixed route.
Children can switch between animals, outdoor play and indoor activities instead of doing one thing all day.
The indoor play barn and Imaginarium give families somewhere to go when the weather changes.
The animal collection turns the visit into more than a standard adventure playground.
Towers, tunnels, jumping areas and play villages give energetic children plenty of space to explore.
