You couldn’t have Halloween or Autumn without pumpkins and there is nothing more fun than picking your very own at the farm.

This year my family and I headed over to the Dan Tanner PYO Farm in Sopley to find fields of orange pumpkins, tractors to play on and bakery treats to enjoy.
There is parking for 100 cars, but it is still regularly close to full and it’s easy to understand why. There is a children’s play area with plenty of picnic tables for adults to take a rest at and enjoy a hot drink from the bakery. There are also old tractors for the children to climb on and pretend to drive.
There are flowers to pick and cut and berries to pick alongside your pumpkins. Just grab yourself a wheelbarrow at the shop on the start of your trip and wander the fields trying to find the perfect pumpkin for each of you. Will you go for white, traditional orange or one of the other more colourful variations on offer?! If you don’t find the ideal one there are plenty to choose from at the farm shop and usually some munchkin pumpkins for decoration too.

Who wants a supermarket pumpkin that is cheap, but you can’t eat? Not us, and the experience of picking your own is an autumn tradition we know we’ll be keeping for years to come.
Open 7 days a week from 10-4.30 we know you’ll love it as much as we did but don’t wait until the end of the month or you might find yourself disappointed!
