London Zoo is a British institution that cannot be missed from any childhood, after all there aren’t many places where you can come face to face with a dragon these days! Our boys would definitely agree and recommend it as one of their favourite places to visit in London.

The Zoo is divided into three zones: blue, orange and pink, with feedings times you can view in each area and over 650 species of animal to meet. It is also the home of Europe’s only walk-through spider experience so get ready to add a spider selfie to your photo memories of the day!

The best thing about a visit to London Zoo is just how diverse the experience is, whether you are walking through Monkey Valley, viewing the penguins from under the water, feeling the heat in Butterfly Paradise or listening to the fascinating talks throughout the day from the ZSL experts. You are guaranteed to come away happy tired and having learnt so much more about the animals you love the most. It is also a great feeling to know that your family day out is contributing to conservation work that the ZSL undertake in over 50 countries around the world.

The wild adventures are not just kept to animal spotting either, there are adventure play areas and multiple cafes for a pit stop to refuel when small feet get tired.

There are frequent new additions to the animal world at London Zoo, the baby sloth last autumn was wonderful, and the tiger cubs born this summer are sure to be a highlight for all visitors. There is so much to see you’ll want to rush to fit it all in but our top tip would be to take you time with your favourites, there’s nothing like watching a fluffy lion take a nap.
