A trip to the Isle of Wight is an adventure in itself but while you’re there our favourite place not to be missed is the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary. Home to some of the most threatened animals on Earth, Wildheart is a safe haven for animals from all over Europe.

From illegal pets to ex-circus animals, the Wildheart Sanctuary is home to lions and tigers, and lemurs and monkeys as well as reptiles, farm animals and different species of birds and fish.

There are various talks and encounters that take place throughout the day, opportunities to feed the smaller domestic animals, and the staff are always ready and eager to answer questions and tell you more about the important work they are doing. The play and picnics areas are ideal for a break, and if you just want a sweet treat the café will definitely be a good place to stop.

At the end of your visit, you can leave after a long, fun, educational day knowing that your experience has truly made a difference. The Wildheart Sanctuary is the best kind of family day out and we can’t wait to return.
